Inchelium Community,

We want to update you with where things are at in the aftermath of the still active Modrite fire.

We are relieved that no one is missing but express our sorrow for staff and the Inchelium community members who lost their homes. Our community rallied together during this time.

Please know that many things are still in flux with input and or approval that will need to be sought.

Administration held a meeting with the contractor, architects and our insurance company this morning.. We need to wait for a Level 2 to have smoke mitigation crews arrive, assess and then repair any damage that has been done. A Level 2 will allow the construction crews to continue their work. The next meeting with this group will be soon after a Level 2 is called.

Although we do not have any dates yet, we can expect our school year to be pushed back but the length of which is unknown at this time.  We have also gotten into contact with OSPI,  ESD Superintendent Rob Roettger, and also met with  OSPI Superintendent  Chris Reykdal on Monday and briefed him on the fires and impact the fires are having on schools.

We are still gathering information and will continue to inform the board, staff and community.
